Jaguar is Going Coast to Coast with the XF!

Jaguar has specially imported a diesel XF to New York, intent on making a cross country trip that will assess just how economical their 2.2-liter four-cylinder diesel engine can be. Independent UK test drivers David and Alexander Madgwick left New York yesterday, determined to make it to Los Angeles in seven days. They will travel over 2,800 miles through 11 states, and thanks to a special GPS device fitted in the car, its average speed and fuel economy can be tracked via Jaguar's Facebook page or Twitter feed via hash tag #XFCoast2Coast.

It's not the first time that the new model has embarked on a long-distance trip. Earlier this year an XF 2.2 was driven from the factory at Castle Bromwich, Birmingham, England to Munich, Germany - a distance of 816 miles - on a single tank of diesel achieving an average of 47.4 US mpg. Despite being the most fuel efficient Jaguar ever created, the XF 2.2 accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 8 seconds before reaching a top speed of 140 mph.
